What is it?

A single premium, 'with profits', whole of life, assurance policy for children, with these benefits:-

  • It is a donor bond, which enables you to make an investment for a child
  • It starts earning bonuses, from the day you invest

How much can be invested?

From as little as £250 up to £100,000 . More can be invested at any time, (minimum £250 - each additional investment is treated as a new policy).

   

WHEN CAN THE BOND BE ENCASHED AND HOW MUCH WILL THE CHILD GET?

The longer the money remains invested, the more bonuses you will potentially accumulate for the child.  Maximum benefit will normally be achieved by retaining the bond for at least 10 years.

The bond can be cashed in at its full face value, which is the total of the amount you originally invested, plus the bonuses we may have added, less any amounts withdrawn, on the child’s 18th or 21st birthday, provided the policy has run for a minimum of 10 years.  Alternatively the policy can be encashed on its 10th anniversary or any subsequent 10th anniversary.  You must nominate your chosen encashment date when you take the policy out.

Repayment is also available at any other time, but you could get back less than you have paid in.
