The investment performance of the Unit Funds will determined the value of your plan at any time. |

If
If you stop making the savings payments, the plan will be made “paid up” (meaning you cease paying premiums but do not cash in your plan).

What do we mean by 'Tax-Free' or 'Tax-Exempt'?
Your premiums net of charges are invested into a Tax Exempt Unit Fund. This fund pays no tax on most of its investment income and gains.
The exception to this is the dividend income received from investments in UK Company shares, from which corporation tax at a current rate of 10% is deducted.
The proceeds of the policy paid to you when you cash in, or to your estate should you die during the term of the policy, will be free from income and capital gains taxes.
Please note that on death, the proceeds of the policy will form part of your estate and may be subject to Inheritance Tax.
Taxes and legislation may change in the future. The information given here is based on our understanding of the current situation, at the date of publication. If you have any queries or concerns about your personal tax position, we recommend you consult your Tax or Financial Advisor. |

This Simple Guide should be read in conjunction with the key Features Document for an explanation of the risks inherent in this policy. |
| |
Are there any other benefits ?
The Society operates a Discretionary Fund, which is intended to help members pay for dental, optical and medical expenses. Policy holders become members of the Society and if they invest £1,000 or more, are eligible to claim up to £30 per year (per member and not per policy), at the discretion of the Society after one year of membership.
This additional benefit is free of charge, subject to meeting the above investment criteria, but the scheme may be changed or withdrawn at any time. |
| |
Do I need to provide any other information?
In order to comply with Money Laundering legislation, the Society may require confirmation of your identity and address. We may therefore ask to see documents such as a passport or driving license and utility bills or bank statement before issuing a policy.
Proof of identity may also be required at other times, including on encashment of the policy.
